In 2015, Karen founded "The Core of the Cure" which addresses health and wellness issues that affect women; primarily focusing on breast health, after noticing there weren’t many free programs in the community. It began as a series of workshops with a free breakfast for 200 women. Five years later, "The Core of The Cure" has grown to expand the education and information we provide on a different platform reaching women everywhere. We partner with churches to reduce health disparities and addressing the health of the community by improving health literacy, providing resources and education, and empowering each person with the tools to be advocates of their health. Karen is currently employed as a clinic nurse working with programs that oversee children in the foster care system.enjoy reading, traveling, and enjoying family and friends.
